Welcome to the Shore Middle School web page! Shore is beginning its inaugural year as a middle school with the 2008-2009 school year. Shore is located in northeast Ohio and has approximately 700 students and 80 staff members. Shore's mission is to provide the academic, technological, and social skills essential for all students to become critical thinkers and lifelong learners in a diverse and ever changing society. We are also working diligently on providing a learning environment which stresses the importance of respect for self, others, and our school.
Technology is available at Shore to allow students to use our lab for research and the development of projects such as Powerpoint presentations. Teachers also have access to laptop/projection units for their classrooms to utilize video streaming, a graphic organizer program, and for general instructional use. Many of our teachers incorporate technology to enhance their instruction and provide quality instruction to their students.
Shore offers students many social opportunities which they are encouraged to become active in. Many students choose to participate in outside events such as interscholastic athletics, intramurals, a variety of clubs (art, ski, garden, NJHS, student council), and school improvement teams. Opportunities exist for all students to participate as long as they remain eligible to do so. Students also attend dances; help with community service projects, and aide in building improvement initiatives.
We are looking forward to having the sixth grade students and teachers join us in 2008-2009!
